The Lake Mary Champions is an AAU Boys Basketball Club. The Club is a non-profit organization set up for boys 17 and under to improve skills and play at a competitive level of basketball throughout the Central Florida area.
Mission
Basketball provides a rewarding opportunity for our players to acquire physical, social and personal benefits that can help them throughout their lives. Further, according to data provided in an American College of Sports Medicine article, "Evidenced Based Physical Activity for School-Age Youth", student athletes generally do better in school. The increased physical activity provides a positive effect on concentration, memory and classroom behavior. Additionally, sports participation has been associated with a lower drop out rate at the high school level that ultimately has profound social and economic consequences for students and their communities..
We prepare each player to fully understand and execute on the fundamentals of the game. Unlike most programs, we actually teach them the "Basketball IQ" quotient of the game. We will instill a “true” sense of Team Spirit and foster an holistic environment of respect and common courtesy as the members of team (as we call it our family ) will be groomed to be considered potential leaders in their respective communities as they advance in their careers.
Overview
The Lake Mary Champions is an AAU Boys Basketball Club. The Club is a non-profit organization set up for boys 17 and under to improve skills and play at a competitive level of basketball throughout the Central Florida area. The Club is made possible primarily by donations from supporting community organizations and individual donations. The Club seeks to encourage all youths to play and through donations assists those who may need financial support through the Champions Scholarship Program.
We seek to develop in each boy an attitude of team play, respect, responsibility and individual character strength..
Community Support for the Lake Mary Champions
We seek community support from businesses and individuals in the Lake Mary area. Through these donations we are able to support the program and individuals.
